Do newspapers make money from their online sites?

I absolutely hate the Cincinnati Enquirer and everything it stands for, and I haven’t bought a printed copy in years, but I still read some articles online. Now I’m wondering: does their website cost them money, or does it turn a profit? Because if they are making even one thousandth part of a penny when I visit their site, I am done!

Yes All newspaper makes money. Some Popular advertisers are google adsens, Yahoo, Microsoft etc. Apart from it Adbrite is also playing a major role.

They make their money on advertising. But really have you ever clicked on an ad and bought something?
I know I haven’t. The closest thing to that ever happening to me is Sharron Stone’s basic instinct II. I did go watch that after seeing it advertised online but I would have anyway.
